My son was being the perfect model on his first Christmas. Not having the motor skills to run away helps. I'm using a fixed 35mm lens with a pretty high aperture. (f 1.8). The sparkling lights on the tree and the reflection off the ornament really blur well in the background.

I have always loved these pictures. They really capture the memories of that first Christmas. What makes them excellent is how out of focus the background is. You can't really tell much about the tree or gifts. Everyone has pictures of their childhood Christmas with the old fashioned tree and out dated gifts. It makes them look old. These pics are truly timeless.
